Translation Translated documents range from simple letters, proposals and reports to books in the following language combinations: English-French-English, English-Portuguese-English and English-Spanish-English. All translations go through the process of a first draft, editing and proofreading, to ensure that the final product is up to standards before it is delivered to the client. TPI can translate about 2,000 words per day, depending on the complexity, formatting and subject matter. For consistency in terminology and writing style, we usually assign one translator to the translation of a document. However, for rush jobs, more than one translator may work on the same document, with a coordinator in charge of harmonizing the terminology.

TPI also offers abstracting services in French, Portuguese, Spanish and English. The abstract may be in the language of the original document or in one of the languages in which we translate. It typically includes background, objectives, scope and a conclusion drawn from the original document, and varies in length according to the client’s preferences.
Interpretation We offer interpretation services in French for the Washington, DC metro area. These services include: Consecutive interpretation: The interpreter intervenes often after a few sentences or in a back and forth manner. This format is good for small groups or for short formal presentations. Escort interpretation: This format utilizes a precise paraphrasing style. It is used in informal occasions like receptions, tours, and site visits.
